Q. Please talk about the journey of the soul

A. The soul does not journey in the way that you think of it. The soul is perpetually at play. The soul is all of life in all its many manifestations, stillness containing all movement.

Q. Is there not, then, an individual soul? What is the journey of human incarnation?

A. There is no individual soul, only individual form. Spirit, or soul, enters form and enters, in doing so, the illusion of separation. The spiritual journey of the human individual is towards unity consciousness, where the truth about soul is revealed.

Q. Is this journey not accomplished over many lifetimes?

A. The unfolding of matter into spirit is accomplished through many forms, but that is not of what you speak. The question you are asking is about individual identity, and we tell you that individual identity is an illusion that begins and ends with a particular form. Therefore this form, Pratima, exists only in this life. However this form is comprised of cells which have journeyed through many lifetimes and therefore there is memory of other lives. In this way, matter unfolds through form into awareness of oneness. Cellular memory is created when pockets of matter fail to disperse when form disintegrates. These clumps represent knots held in contraction which do not expand in consciousness when dissolution, or death, occurs. Remember, we have told you, birth or incarnation is an event of contraction and evolution is the movement towards expansion. Therefore, in one sense, matter evolves since all matter moves from contraction to expansion. That which is held lightly is released. That which is held in contraction remains. The process of evolution is the process of unfolding into expansion, and the work of the human incarnation is the unfolding, in particular, of knots held in contraction, formed in this lifetime or in previous lifetimes. However, previous lifetimes does not mean 'MY' previous lives, but other lives in which knots have been formed and where these knots have now "landed" in this form. Because form is only cellular mass held in place by the electrical spark we call identity, and part of that cellular mass is "clumps" which have moved together from other forms at their death. As far as the human journey is concerned there is movement from contraction to expansion over lifetimes, but the sense of 'I am' in each form is not carried over. In that sense, no personal soul can be spoken of.

Q. How do you account for such systems as, say, the Michael Channel, which describe an individual's journey through levels and lives?

A. These systems describe what we are describing using slightly different language. For example, the Michael system describes a series of soul levels from Baby to Old. We would say that a baby soul is the incarnation at the start, extremely contracted and separate. Such a form does not disintegrate completely at death because so much of the cellular mass is held in contraction. But as the cells move through incarnation they become more loosely associated and knots become unraveled. Do you understand? So in a certain way you can see that what they call Old souls are forms which are made up of a majority of expanded groupings as opposed to contracted groupings.

Q. It sounds then, as though it is the cells that evolve.

A. No, this is not the case. Because all of manifest life is moving from contraction to expansion, the more expanded, or loosely connected, the cells in a form the more aware that form is, if it has self-awareness, of its soul nature. An "enlightened" being is someone who is fully aware of their soul nature and yet contracted enough to stay in form. Just. Do you see? Beyond that the form would disintegrate. So it is not the cells that evolve but the level of contraction that shifts in cell groupings over time. This can lend the impression of linear evolution but this is not the case. Soul is in perpetual movement through form and through the law of averages there are bound to be at any one time some forms in complete contraction on the planet and some in extreme expansion. But it is a play of chaos, as we see it, and the "I" that you are is only a whisper of consciousness and the cells that are you will disperse as they will when this form dies.

Q. Are like cells, then, attracted to like? I mean, will cells that are free be attracted to other cells that are free, resulting in an evolved sense of identity?

A. It is more the opposite, that where there are many free floating cells creating a spacious consciousness of spirit, contracted cells will be pulled into expansion more quickly. Where there are many bundles of contracted energy, or memories, there is less momentum to expansion. It is for this reason that those who experience contraction in the form of anger, anguish, neurosis, seek help to release these patterns. And these patterns can be released and expansion can be helped, but the being has to be at a certain level of expansion to desire such openings rather than preferring to act them out.

Q. It seems that you are saying there is an inexorable journey from contraction to expansion, but that as far as individual identity is concerned this cannot be known.

A. Yes and no. At a certain point the work of expansion is entered into with a will. This is the spiritual journey that you have embarked upon and that those who take an interest in this site are on. At this point the individual consciousness is aware of a longing to expand, is willing to make sacrifices to do so and is also, in many cases, willing to help others to come to this same point. Then the individual begins to understand the journey and to participate in it. This is a very joyful experience for the entire being as it begins to align itself with the journey that soul is actually on. There is tremendous relaxation in this. But the "I" can only participate in the here and now. Identity is a trick of consciousness and cannot be carried over, indeed need not be carried over, since the only true "I" is the All.

Q. Then what about the Bodhisattva consciousness that states that it will not leave form until all forms are awakened to their true nature?

A. Do you understand through our description that nothing dies? In this perpetual dance of energy there is no flavor that is ever lost. The very essence of all life, that of which cells are made, is love, is responsiveness, is "yes". The longing to bring healing to those who are in pain is an inevitable part of the journey. This longing, which is made of love, is perpetually present on your plane. It is not a matter of individual identity, of a someone who stays behind. It is a matter of the nature of unfolding. There is always, in balance and unbalance, a great blending of those who wish to help, those who wish to heal, those who wish to be healed, and those who do not. Your belief in the mythologies of your culture, all of which are based on the journeys of individuals, makes this difficult for you to understand. But understand. The Bodhisattva is everpresent on this plane, as is the Creator, the Destroyer, the Mother, the Father and so on. This is the meaning of the panoply of gods in your pantheistic religions. When you move beyond individual identity you see that the soup in which you move contains all that you can imagine.

Q. Why does this depress me?

A. Because you are caught in duality and therefore attached to "positive" outcome. But the reality is more joyful than any scenario you can come up with. For all this life, all this dance, is a great dance of joy, of love, of "yes". And until you move beyond your attachment to separation, this great celebration is hidden from you.
