Q. This is a question from a good friend: Many people, in relation to the coming solar eclipse and also the millennium, are talking about major energetic shifts, intergalactic events, seals opening, beings from outer space helping us, harming us and so on. Some people we know will travel to various places on the planet to facilitate movements of energy and openings. What is the truth about these purported phenomena? How should we relate to them? Our friend says, 'I used to be into that stuff but now it doesn't feel real for me ...'
A. When you use the mind to apprehend reality you are rarely able to get more than a glimpse of what is actually the case. Your subatomic physicists come closest to truth in that they are seeing the cellular flux that is the core of life. Were you to see this play from the point of view of spirit you would see a great dance of vibrating energies, a perpetual movement of color and light, of expansion and contraction. It is your need to quantify, to fix and to place value that causes confusion and disagreement or disturbance.
So...
The energy of life is unlimited, which is to say that the playground of all consciousness is beyond the bounds of the galaxies. Of course, since everything is contained within it. Therefore it stands to reason that energy moves between galaxies and within galaxies as well as on the planet. The human mind has a tremendous need to create form, to see phenomena as bounded, definable and to ascribe value. For this reason, a light filled energy moving across galaxies or planets is defined as a "being from outer space coming to help". In the material plane there are negative and positive forces, forces of contraction and expansion, darkness and light, at every level. Through the forces of aversion and desire, repulsion and attraction, these forces are manifested in form on your plane, made more or less real. J.C. Barrie, who wrote Peter Pan, was right when he had Tinkerbell tell the children that fairies only exist if children believe in them. This is exactly so. But it is not that the energy would no longer exist. It is that it would cease to be pulled into this particular form.
But we see this is confusing. Let's try again.
It is not that spacemen do or don't exist. Do Serbs and Croats exist. No, in fact, they do not, except by arbitrary definition and belief. If you bring a Serb to the US at the age of one is he still a Serb? Only if he believes himself to be. But according to his belief, war is made. So with intergalactic spacemen. It is the definition of an energy that makes it so. Without the definition does the energy still exist? Of course. But will it manifest in the same way? No. Or maybe. When your New Agers (if they will forgive this abbreviated definition) speak of these phenomena they are tuning into a potential energy. They offer themselves as a magnetic pole for this energy to manifest on your plane. Through their desire and belief, therefore, it does so.
Q. But if I don't believe in Galactic spacemen will it still manifest for me? If I don't believe or pay attention to an energy opening, will it happen in my world anyway?
A. Again, you misunderstand the nature of reality. Consciousness is all-things-in-potential. Everything imaginable is already happening. Through your somewhat limited sensory equipment you organize out of this wild and eternal event the world that is yours and that is manageable to you.
Q. So everyone's world is different?
A. Of course. Except at the level of the most dense matter. Which you hold in agreement. But only because it is pragmatic to do so. It would be hard to get around if each of you used a different form of transport. Messy. But that is the only reason. And there are those who break the rules from time to time - who bilocate, for example.
Q. But say someone believes that the world is going to end on a certain date. But I don't believe it. Will the world end?
A. Theirs might. It depends on the depth of their belief.
Q. But if we live in the same world, how can theirs end and mine not?
A. There is no one reality. Of course their world can end while yours continues. Through belief and desire they create their reality. As do you.
Q. This makes me uncomfortable. Are you really saying there is no real reality. Then how is it there are other people who see the world the same way I do, and we all believe we are in it together?
A. Because you have agreed to do so. It is really quite simple. These agreements are what you call the mass mind. That is why whether the person you spoke about before's world ends or not is a question of the depth of their belief. It has to be stronger than their allegiance to the mass mind. Then anything is possible.
Q. This begins to sound like a "parallel realities" kind of deal. Makes me very nervous.
A. We reiterate. Everything that is imaginable exists in potential. Reality is a question, in every moment, of your choosing. It is as though you have a huge pallet and you are picking the colors.
Q. Okay, but let's say my friend believes the world will end and so it does. And I don't, so my world still continues. But I don't believe my friend's world has ended either. So my friend is still in my world. But in his world the world has ended. Where is my friend? Do you see what I am getting at.
A. Yes, of course. And we tell you again there is no such thing as 'real' in the way you define it. There is only consciousness playing at the manifest with the body as instrument. Therefore your friend can exist in your world even while in "his" world he no longer exists. Because you are painting the picture. You are pulling the colors off the pallet. Just because someone doesn't choose to put yellow in their picture doesn't mean yellow ceases to exist. You are, indeed, painting a picture. There is no past and future as you understand it. Only all-things-in-potential and your desire and aversion. In this way life is entirely a co-creation with Spirit. With you as the painter and the painted. Do you see?
Q. Sort of. It's disturbing. And difficult to grasp.
A. Yes. Well. You did ask. And it makes life more fun, don't you think, when the choices are infinite?
